Money, money, money

Do we teach our children enough about money?

In a world that is ever increasing in technological use it is becoming less likely that our children will see us spending actual physical money. When was the last time your child saw you pay for an item with money and receive change?

A survey was done recently asking children how much they think a pint of milk costs and the average response was £17. When asked what they thought their salary would be on starting work they thought it would be £2 million.

We must make sure we encourage our children to use money and learn the monetary value of things.

I find when teaching children about money the trickiest part is understanding that 2 different coins can be worth 2 different amounts.
