Group Tutoring sessions in Plymouth

If you are looking for a Maths or English Tutor, you may be interested in our forthcoming group tutoring sessions that began in January 2020. Small group tutoring has been proven to really build confidence and develop mathematical skills and understanding. We are a Plymouth based group easily accessible from Saltash, Kingsbridge, Tavistock, Ivybridge, Torpoint. We have a limited number of places in each group and places tend to sell out very quickly so early booking is advised to book your child’s place in our group tuition sessions. Group sessions are £25 per 1 hour session.

Maths Group tutoring sessions – after school

Teach My Child Maths Monsters – Mondays 4 – 5pm

This group session is for children aged between 5 and 7 years. Each session will be tailored to your child’s needs. Most importantly we will use physical materials to help visualise the concept and understand what is happening. The group will be a maximum of 5 children. As a result of this your child will gain the best from working with others in a small, intimate group setting.

Teach My Child Maths Magicians – Tuesdays 4:30 – 5:30pm

This session is for children aged between 8 and 10 years. We will use a combination of physical materials and paper and pencil methods to visualise what is happening and understand the maths concept. There will be a maximum of 5 children in the group. Consequently children gain the best from working with others and discussing ideas and having the support from a specialist teacher.

Teach My Child Maths Masters – Fridays 4:30-5:30pm

This group will be for children aged 10 and 11 years. It is designed to build upon previous maths knowledge and to provide support where it is needed through group discussion and support using physical materials and pencil and paper methods. There will be a maximum of 5 children in the group. Consequently children gain the best from working with others and discussing ideas and having the support from a specialist teacher.

Teach My Child 11+ – TBC

This group is for children in Year 4 or aged 8-9 years who would like to build their skills for the 11+ examination. The examination in Plymouth is taken at the start of Year 6 during the month of September. These sessions will support children in gaining the skills needed to sit the Reading Comprehension test and the Maths test.
